Our baby boy, Patrick Braden Robins, was born on Sept. 3rd at St. Joseph’s Hospital in Phoenix. He is amazing and we love being his parents.

London Family

We had a great time with the London Family! Their grandfather had his 90th birthday and as part of the festivities the whole family treked to Garden Grove, CA for a photo shoot in front of “Grandpa’s House.” Even the friendly neighborhood mailman was photogenic…!

We are grateful to know this fun family and for the opportunity to share in their celebration of a wonderful man.

Little Owen

Our good friends the Greers have been cool enough to share Owen time with us now and then ever since he was born 2 1/2 months ago. We live so far away from our new baby nephews, and we have awhile yet to wait until our own Pedro arrives, so Owen has been O-so accommodating in providing us with a baby fix. It has been fun to watch him grow–and before he gets any bigger, I wanted to share some images from his 2-week-old session. Enjoy!

the house that pedro built

We have an awesome network of people who are almost as excited as we are for our baby, currently/temporarily known as ‘Pedro’. We love having such great support! We’ve had some requests for photos of me in the family way, so here is a start. These were taken on May 12th (Happy birthday Mom!) so things have progressed a bit since then…but at least it’s a start!

Charcoal Alien Pictionary

Sometimes we like to watch Jimmy Fallon’s Thank You Notes sketch. Recently he gave a shout-out to expectant parents that made us laugh guiltily:

people who insist on showing off ultrasound pictures of their unborn children.

Just so you know, all of those pictures look exactly the same…

I would hate to have his thank you note be in vain, {plus I had a couple of requests for the latest ultrasound shots}, so I am proudly sharing a couple of new 4D sonograms of our alien baby:

As for the rest of the sonograms from yesterday, I must admit that Jimmy is right where they’re concerned. I pretty much had no clue what I was looking at, but our lovely Australian technician was kind enough to point things out. (Including the necessary parts that confirm Pedro’s boyness, although I don’t have a photo of that here). I thought just for fun that we’d have a little contest to see who can guess what part of the baby is showing in these charcoal drawings:

Wedding Wednesday {Save the Date}

If you are like us, your engagement is barely long enough to get wedding invites delivered in an appropriate time-frame. Many of our awesome family members {immediate, extended, and might-as-well-be family} traveled a good bit in order to attend our dual-state nuptial festivities. One thing I’m sure that our traveling guests would have appreciated is a little thing called a Save. The. Date.

Oh man would people have liked having something official 6 months in advance . At least I imagine that they would…and I certainly would have if I had been them. Good thing they love us and they finagled everything that needed to be finagled in order to celebrate with us {thank you family!}

If you don’t want your own lucky loved ones to even have to think about finagling, or at least not at the last minute, check out some ideas below for Save-the-Date Cards. Just like invitations, these can be as simple or as extensive as you want them to be.

If your wedding could be described by one {or more} of the following phrases, you might want a Save-the-Date:

(I’ll bet you thought that was going to end with “you might be a Redneck.” Ha! the jokes on you…I didn’t say that.)

My favorite thing about Save-the-Dates {which aren’t allowed an acronym here for obvious reasons} is how absolutely wild and crazy they can be! These are for your closest peeps–the ones you really, really want at your wedding, so you can show your true colors. All of them. Colors galore.

I saw this one on the Sloane Photographers blog. The Sloanes did our wedding photography and I never get tired of saying how amazing they were/are. I love these shots–the couple got married in Cancun, so they had some photos taken like so:

This next clever idea was introduced to me by Green Wedding Shoes. Photographer-Web Designer-Printer-Artist Kelty, of Steep Street, did the photography and created these Save-the-Date Invites. Not only are they witty, unique, and aesthetic, but they apparently also have a lot of personal meaning for the couple. (Read a blurb of their story here on the GWS blog.)
